Unusuable for now, but looks promising.

    Please include the following:
-full deviantart category support + boost:popular and max_age options
-swipe to next item in screen
-choice between largethumbnail load (as case right now) and full-image showcase (as in Devious-app - which seems not to be under development)
-and later: internal webkit to load deviantpage and set favs

    Hi Grovel,

I agree that the app needs further development, to be honest I just wanted to try some unusual programming techniques and wanted to know if it will pass the apple App approval :) ... but anywa as there is quite few people downloading it, I started working on the upgrade. Unfortunately DeviantArt does not have any API I can connect to than the only remaining source is RSS feed (fortunately there is at least some limited search functionality) but there is no access to the stuff like messages, login, etc ...

I've add the browser window right now as it is quite easy update and it's not a bad idea :) ... it will be in the next update next month ...

The swipe to the next pic sound cool and I'll do that as well ...

Just if you can explain me what do u mean by the larger thumbnail? ...

    Cheers,

    Ondrej

Well, deviantArt's rss-feed gives you three media entries per item: two thumbnails (with a 150px, and 300px dimension respectively) - I think you display the second of these (what I call the large thumbnail), arent's you? Yet the feed also offers a media:content entry with the original size image.

Obviously you cannot access messages, set favs, and the like - but this can easily be remedied by the inclusion of a browser window (glad you'll include this).
On the other hand, the RSS-feeds are great and offer plenty of options.

For example, if you enter "boost%3Apopular+in%3Aphotography+max_age%3A24h" as the rss query, then you get the most popular items of the last 24 hours in the photography subsection. This can be queried for any of the categories (which you would have to set statically in your app - I suppose) and for a series of predefined timeframes.
At the moment I use cooliris and pass these strings as search terms, but it is terribly slow - so a better app would be wonderful. Especially because the dev-art webapp sucks.

    Cheers and thumbsup,

    grovel

Oh that's great :) ... I haven't done any deep research about that to be honest :) ... anyone has more functionality like that I can include?

    Thanks for a tip :)
